Interior firewall insulation

Mice ripped up all the jute and pissed in all the rubberized matting behind the dash. Any recommendations on replacing?

Re: Interior firewall insulation

Same thing happened to me. Quietride has an excellent product. It is stupid expensive though. And it's NOT a fun job to install.

Hard to install? Looks like $200+? Maybe hushmat or dynamat is just as good? Going through their site now. Thanks for the tip.

Re: Interior firewall insulation

Everything has to come off the firewall to install the pad. And I do mean everything. I worked my way over from the passenger side to the driver side and by the time I got to the brake & clutch pedals I said, "Screw this!" and cut a slit in the pad so I could just slap it down and be done.

You can do the sound/heat insulation but I have a real aversion to gluing stuff to the metal of my car because it's going to have to come off some day. And that day came pretty fast when my heater core leaked and ruined the pad again.

Re: Interior firewall insulation

No wait, I actually did remove everything the first time. It was after the heater core leak that I said screw it and cut the pad in half and ripped out only the wet half.

Oh, nice!

There are hot links to various topics in Post #1 and #2 of that thread. Not sure if it will come in handy or not, but might be worth browsing since you're doing something similar.

And just in case you're tempted.... I have a 427 stroker for sale.
