Re: WTB: 6 speed pedals

4th gen pedals have to be slightly modified to fit in a thrid gen as well.

Re: WTB: 6 speed pedals

I thought about using third gen ones, but from what I've read on here, when using third gen pedals, there is a late clutch release point (unless you modify them), but if you use 4th gen ones, it's fine, although yes, you do need to fit them. That is, unless that's what you meant by it'll work with an LT style but not an LS?

My 84 was originally an auto. In 2003 I installed a T56 using 3rd Gen pedals. Never had a problem with the clutch release point. Feels just like my 95Z with T56 to be honest......

Re: WTB: 6 speed pedals

So John in RI what your telling me is use the 3rd gen pedals with the LT1/T56 clutch hydraulics? I'm doing a 91Z 350 conversion from a 700R4 to a 94 T56. A NAPA tech suggested fabricating an adjustable rod at the pedal to compensate for a potentially high pedal release point. You are saying that you had no problem, is that correct?

Thanks

So John in RI what your telling me is use the 3rd gen pedals with the LT1/T56 clutch hydraulics?
My car is an 84 Berlinetta that was factory stock 305/Auto and swapped to 350/95 T56 using T56 hydraulics & stock ThirGen Pedals and never a problem. The 3rd gen set fits the car better & it does have a higher clutch engaugment point then the T56 in my 95 Z28.

I've done several Auto/Stick conversion in the past and will tell you this - DON"T SCREW UP THE Firewall holes for the hydraulic "U" bracket !! Use the 2 thirdgen pedal brackets as guides for your holes. BE SURE that these brackets are TOUCHING the firewall and that there is no padding between them. ( Good idea to push them hard against the firewall while drilling your holes.) If these holes are off the slightest bit it will cause MAJOR problems with the hydrolics ( bent rod, broken seals, problems engaging ) no matter what pedels you use.
