speedo (115 or 145mph)

Need a stock speedometer for a camaro, the 82-89 cable driven version. 115mph minimum, prefer 145mph if anyone happens to have one. Anytime I see one I'm always too slow to get to it. I just need the speedo but if all you have is the whole cluster, I'll consider it. Broke the needle off mine I'm in louisville, KY (40258) and have paypal. Thanks.

I don't know if I have just a stand alone Speedo, but I've got a couple of clusters. I assume it's for the 383ci in the 89 ?? What's your Yellow/Red line ?? I'll try to get pics ASAP !

Re: speedo (115 or 145mph)

oh thats interesting, i assume the bit about the yellow/red line is about the stock tachometer? it doesnt matter bc I use an externally mounted autometer monster tach. The original tach is no longer wired up so it doesnt matter. but i was looking at pics of my car now and the 89 i had before it. The one i have now has yellow at 55 and red at 6000. The other 89 i had before that was yellow at 45 and red at 5000. wonder why. I'm pretty sure the one i have now was originally a v6 with t5. maybe thats why, and the first one i had must have been a v8 auto car? let me know what you have. thanks. and yes its for the '89 with 383, only one i have now.

Re: speedo (115 or 145mph)

I've got teh 115's and a 145 too. Several of the clsuters were tested - but the speed has never been verified to be accurate. The tachometers all fell within an acceptable range when tested - but could be off a little too.

I tried locating jsut a speedo head for you today but got side-tracked by other obligations. Give me another day or 2 to figure out exactly what I've got here and I'll Write you back. ( I just want to see If I can come up with just a speedo head.... )

P.S. Tachs with a 30/60 oil pressure gauge are V8 and tachs with 40/80 oil pressure guages are V6.
