Wanting to put a 700r4 into my 82' firebird and am needing a few parts to complete the installation. looking for a shifter plate from an 83-84 firebird with overdrive, want in good condition only please (nothing cracked or burned) the style I'm in need of should have the t15 torx screws holding it down in 4 corners and 1 by in ashtray area. I am also looking for a transmission dispstick tube from a 700r4, and the kickdown tv cable, I need the bracket that would mount on intake for the tv cable to mount to as well it must come off a carbureted car though with cruise control, I may or may not need the proper piece on the carb to hook the cable to if it is different from where my 200c trans connects. If anybody has these parts available let me know also if any members here have some info on the same swap I would like to know if the brackets that mount on intake are different or if I could re-use mine?

Thanks, that second one pictured the plastic looks pretty good but the gear selector looks rusty? Would that be able to be cleaned up? If not I would like to get one with good plastic like that one does but good indicator as well since the rest of car is pretty clean only 52,830 miles.

 

The cable bracket and bellcrank pin on the carburetor for a 200-C car will work fine for a TV cable 200-4R / 700-R4.

 

 

Yes I will pass I just got a link from a member on here for new lenses I will have to double check with them and see if I can put this new overdrive lense into my original shifter plate if so I think that's what I will do, but will let you guys know if that doesn't work out, good to know that that my bracket and throttle pin will work with conversion and less parts to buy too

 

Well scrap that idea I will need a different shifter plate, just checked on my plate and the overdrive plate must let the shifter go back further so swapping just the lense out won't do it. So still looking for good condition clean plate, I could make that second plate thats in good condition work if the price is right because I would have to buy a new selector lense which is about $50, so if it's not taken shoot me a price, but I am willing to pay fairly for a good condition plate so anyone else let me know and send some pics if you have one available.

 

Still looking anybody have one laying around, why do some say "automatic overdrive" on them and some I noticed do not? even though they are from a 700r4 car.

i believe all the 700R4 shift plates said "automatic overdrive" on them, but the lettering wears off.

 

Ok thanks, that's what I was thinking, so a shifter plate without much use or sun fading should have the overdrive lettering intact, so anyone have one with good lettering no cracks let me know, hard to find good plastic parts but I'm sure there's a couple out there.

 

update: No longer looking for shifter plate, found one without an ashtray cover so I added a couple gauges, making lemonade out of lemons lol!
