c5-dash install

c5-dash install

im thinking about doing a corvette c-5 dash install just curious if anybodys done this before or if it is even possible to do

I don't have any pictures or anything. but my buddy has an 84 firebird and he's in the process of doing it. he started almost a year ago. he's not very goal oriented. lol.

wish i did he moved to north carolina...or some place around there....while he was in the middle of the swap. he hasn't been up to visit in a while. I'd like to see if he's done. I don't think it would look good. but that's just me. I actually tried talking him out of it.

I think the HUD would be cool....wonder if there's a way to put one in our current dash...prolly too much modification. keep us updated with your progress. good luck

I think that JC Whitney has a retro fit HUD kit out now. It might be a little easier than swapping the entire dash. I know that there is kits out there, but just don't know the name of the company. See what Google has to offer.

man, ive thought about that swap before, always thought it would be awesome, but the door panels would look so out of place.
has anyone completed this swap?

I think someone wanted to try it and then measured the C5 dash and it was no where close to the length of the 3rd gen dash. Grab a tape measure before you get too serious. If you really want it, even if the dimensions are wrong, maybe you could modify the dash with fiberglass.

To get HUD you need a special film on the area of the windshield where the HUD will be displayed at.

C5 door panels probably won't work, really weird shape

my next door neighbor is in the custom hot rod busniess so he said he would help cut the dash up to make it look good and fit i just hope i dont get to in over my head on this one
