How do I remove the center console and the door panels of a 84 firebird?

 

The center console is just alot of bolts. They are easy to find as you take it apart. The door panels have little plastic clips holding it in. You can get a tool to get them off at autozone. Be careful not to pull the clip out of the door panel. Most of the time the clips break when you remove them so pick up a pack when you get the tool.

replace carpet for a ligter cleaner carpet.

Im doing weight reduction

I broke a clip from the panel under the map pocket. and I lost the clip for the shifter

 

You won't lose much weight by replacing carpet, anyway the clip can be bought at any auto or hardware store, as far as the clip get one from a JY.

 

yes I will Ill be removing about 4 inches of carpet I dont need around the console, and it will make the car look a little better
