I started gutting out the interior today. Along with removing the heater box, the dash and all the ducting. The mice had made nests and left little presents everywhere so it all has to come out, get cleaned and disinfected.
SOO I expected to see nests made of my seats and carpet padding.. sure enough I was not disappointed. The thing that got me was what I found in the venting behind the center console.
A friggin BIRD!! Yeah a little bird somehow crawled up in there, got stuck and died. Not a clue how the hell it got in there.
Only thing I can figure is it flew up into the car through the hole for the shifter while the T56 was out getting rebuilt. Then it couldn't get out and somehow crawled up in to the vent.
i thought the mice and bees were bad.. but a BIRD????

i had 12 mice nest in the gta when i pulled it a part. i really wish i could say i had something cool like a bird. but nope just an a$$ ton of mice poopie not even a dead mouse.

 

I'm in the process of parting out an 84 Trans Am and while i didnt keep track of the number of rats nests because there were so many, I did find a live snake when I pulled the dash off of it. But i can honestly say, i have never found a bird, alive or dead, in any of my cars. So your find seems funnier to me than my own find.

 

I can't get the pics off my phone until I get a card reader. Gonna try on my other computer with the printer.. I think that one has the right slot.

I found 2 live mice earlier in the spring when I first started working on the car. I was able to grab them and get rid of them. I started pulling the carpet today... it's going to the dump. It looks decent if you vaccum it, but it reeks of mouse pee now I already tossed the underpad LAST summer cuz that was awful. The floor boards smell of pee too. I guess I need tog ut the whole thing and scrub it all out.

Dead Bird... I can handle that. Mice... Ill handle them to. But... I can honestly say.. Snakes... I hate Snakes.

that really is pretty insane, I've actually hit birds with my car, but never caught any... congrats...I read on import tuner that sparrow-in-the-duct mod is good for about 5-10hp...
