Re: heat coming thru the floorboards?!?!?!?

Are you talking from the actual floor?, or from the vents near your knees. Is it only when you move, does it start right away? all are questions we can use.

ok the air is coming thru the vents, and it only happens when the car is moving and slightly coming thru when the car is stopped

get rid of the heater core. It's not doing anything but throwing off heat the way you have things set up. Also you might as well get rid of all the ducting behind the dash too.

Definitely don't get rid of the heater core- no more driving at night or when it's rainy and the windows fog up either. I think they all have this problem- some just notice more than others.

Re: heat coming thru the floorboards?!?!?!?

Maybe I'm not following what you did.. if you removed the part where the AC was and put a steel plate over it, then you no longer have a fan.. so there's not much going to happen as far as moving the hot air when you want to.

Try moving the control to MAX AC and then the hot cold to cold. That should close off most of the air flow from outside and push less air through while driving.

Re: heat coming thru the floorboards?!?!?!?

hmmm, well the hole in the heater box where the ac condensor was is covered with a sheet of metal, the heater still blows hard and fine, but the floor vents let air thru when i have the heater turned to off, but if i turn the heater or ac on anything else the air comes out of vents or defrost

really confusing?

Re: heat coming thru the floorboards?!?!?!?

Ok so you left the housing there. I thought you meant that you put a piece of sheet metal on the firewall to cover that hole.

Re: heat coming thru the floorboards?!?!?!?

its doing what its supposed to, there is no 'off', you will always have a litle bit of forced air
and you removed the shutoff valve to the heater core, so even on full cold your heater core will be warming up, therefore all is normal
