Im not sure on the oil etc. but for the tach u should be able to run it of the coil. Which wire I do not know. But this is what I did on my 90 Tbird.

If you look in a firebird auto catalog (like haynes, chiltons ect) there's a wire diagram in the back you should find the color wire that goes to your dist from the tach my guess is the same color all the way thru...

Re: HELP PLZ!!!NO GAUGES WORK

After my last post I saw my Haynes Manual so figure what the hey...the best I figure this out is on 89 and earlier 5.0/5.7 w/ TBI coming out of the Coil is a white wire (to istrument cluster)
then a 2nd white wire (along with brn and pnk) goes into the powertrain control module(cpu?)
then another pnk to your starter switch
on the tach side there's the white (to coil) and blk/whit to ground
hope i helped some but if I confused ya it's page 10-21(coil),10-23(tach) in the hanyes of 82-92 firebirds pn#79019 swing by an Advance Auto or whomever else sells haynes and check it out(or buy it it's my bible!)

Re: HELP PLZ!!!NO GAUGES WORK

Pull the cluster, trace the circuit board from the rear of the guage that you are interested in, to the connector socket, note the pin number, cut the appropriate wire, run a new one for each guage.

There will be the original wires left as extra weight/mess, but this will likely be the fastest fix.
