CTS seat possibility??
CTS seat possibility??
Has anyone ever tried fitting Cadillac CTS seats into our cars? I as wondering beause I rode in one the other day and those black leather seats are SO comfortable that I wish I could fit them into my Camaro. Has anyone tried his swap or does anyone know if there is any possibility of this working (hopefully without any major modiications)? I'm hoping someone has had the same idea as me so I don't have to buy these seats just to test fit them. Thanks

Re: CTS seat possibility??
I assumed the backs would be a PITA and not worth the effort (black leather 4th gen camaro rears will be fine) but the fronts shouldnt be too bad to make some kind of track for right? Could i take a CTS track and use the mounting points from that instead of the stock camaro seat mounting points? Thanks

Re: CTS seat possibility??
My cadillac seats are only bolted down with 2 bolts in the rear
The fronts are slip hook style
I dont remember perfectly, but I think the racks are permanently attached with rivets or welds

So you do have these seats in your car? Or do you have a Cadilac with these seats in them? If they are held down with rivets , they should be able to be drilled out to remove the tracks from the Cadillac and just riveted/welded into my camaro, correct? Thanks

Re: CTS seat possibility??
Just from my experiences with seats, I would check the dimensions of the cady seats before you attempt anything, they may be too tall or too wide for the camaro, especially if you need to make special brackets. It would be a nice upgrade if it worked, but definately check the dimensions first.
Re: CTS seat possibility??
Im actually not sure how realistic this idea is, at least in the near fututre for me, because I'm sure the Cadillac seats will be pretty expensive compared to the 3rd gen seats. I just wanted to see if anyone had tried this before me so I could know if it works for later on. Thanks

I don't have Cadillac seats, but I do have seats from a Dodge Conquest (tuner car from the 80's). What I ended up doing is bolting the Dodge seats to the original 3rd gen tracks... but stock and conquest seats are about the same dimensions...

I have a cadillac
You will either have to run camaro racks modified to fit the Caddy seats, or make your own
Also bear in mind they are completely power
No adjustments are made manually and not all of them are attached to the seat
This requires a remote mount

Yeah, they are the same. The only difference is the headrest. I agree, they are very nice seats. I really like the fully adjustable bolsters and lumbar....
