Went to the junkyard the last 2 days. Didnt do too bad *pics*

Got basically a complete set of trunk plastics, some fan switches, door lock switches, interior screws, door pulls, alternator bracket, and a cluster set for my pickup

Spent $114 the last 2 days there

Also. Found a good upper seat and a good lower seat in separate cars. I was wondering if I could put the padded parts only on my drivers frame

Nice finds. Are the upper and lower pieces from driver's seats?

No passenger seats. I didnt know if I could get away with using only the padded parts and then just use all the driver frame and hardware

I could be wrong, but the holes are different such as the seatbelt guide holes. I used lower and upper pieces from different cars to make a better seat but they were both from driver's seats and I used them to replace my driver's seat.

Don't just listen to me though, let a few others reply to confirm or diagree with what I've said.

pretty good find, here is a link about seat covers and such.

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/inte...ver-seats.html

Also the head rest doesn't just pull out when you have the cover off there is a metal tab that has to be turned.

Apparently its a somehwat simple swap. All I need to do is get the driver frame and upper foam, the passenger cover, and a passenger bottom and I should be good to go

If you switch the foams, your seatbelt guide will be on the wrong side, and what about the tilt forward lever? Wrong side again. Slider mechanism? It may attach to the frame, not the cushion itself, so you may be good there.

So I can take both covers off easily and except for a few holes I may need to sew up or cut open, the covers themselves should fit a drivers frame and foam?

I'd SUSPECT you could, but I've never torn one apart to KNOW, yes or no. But the look possible.

If it doesn't work, don't go...."Stephen said I could! DAMN HIM!"

I plan on figuring out how to wire in an auxiliary input and making a custom ipod dock for my car

Yes, when I had mine re-done I used the fabric, foam and the basket from the donor passenger seat, and on the side where there are holes from when the back mounts to the bottom the whole sides were replaced by the old drivers seat sides.

Also not really "easy" the hog rings are kind of a pain to work with. I just took my donor seat and my old seat to an upholstery shop and they did it all for $130.

You don't need to cut through them just take some pliers or channel locks and bend them to open
