Transmission: T-5, swapped it in.

Axle/Gears: no clue, but I'll learn

I hadn't heard of the cross fiore injection. This dash emblem is for sale on Ebay. Hadn't seen one before, thought I'd throw it out here...

Yeah, a noob, but learnin' Everybody has a little noob in them. If I was too big a noob, I wouldn't have an IROC. TPI, TBI. Crossfire - thought that was a Harley... :-)

CFI was used in the z28 for 82-83.It was also used in the corvette in 82

Many would say the Crossfire Injection system was better off forgotten anyway. Big problems when it first came out. The gasoline was not clean enough for those injectors. Cars would be barely running before the first oil change was due.

crossfire was used in 1984 on corvettes as well. rated at 205hp

I am very much a noob to this site, but not a noob to crossfire. I am the original owner of a 1982 TA with crossfile and have never had any problems with it. Allthough, it's been in storage for the last 4 or 5 years.

There were problems with water leaking into the air filter housing, and CFI systems are quite underpowered by today's standards. It was not well understood by many at the time as EFI had not really caught on yet. Otherwise its not much different than the TBI setup on millions of GM trucks, vans, and cars.

I never had any issues with my '83 Cross-fire. Besides, when I replaced the original 305 all of the Cross-fire stuff went onto the new '88 iroc 305 motor and I ran that for many years, no problems.
