anyone else have moisture problems?
anyone else have moisture problems?
inside my t/a, it seemslike its always damp feeling, especially if its raining out, and i know that the dampness can seep in, but it feels like its really raining inmy car lol ive patched up the t-top leaks (as well as i can, i still get a bit of a drip when it rains hard or theres strong winds to push the rain in) and after tearing out the carpet i have found a rust hole in the floor about the size of my palm, but i dont think either of those are what are contributing to this probem....i wasnt sure if anyone else had/has this problem especially since im putting in the new carpet tomorrow and i dont want it to be damp and smelly like th eold one

Re: anyone else have moisture problems?
I have an 88 GTA little bit of water gets under the winshield when i wash it, but otherwise the car hasn't seen rain in 5 years.
Re: anyone else have moisture problems?
well theres no water seeping in through the winshield i dont think...and door may be a possibility....the rust hole was just behind the passenger seat and right in front of the rear seats
Re: anyone else have moisture problems?
lol well i thought that maybe if i went fast enough i could clear the reservoir near me lol
but i found a rust hole in my floor, that could have contributed to it, it could have been trapped in the carpet maybe...maybe the door....or i am thinking abut possibly starting to investigate the rear ofth ecar for holes too

My passenger side t-roof leaked very slightly and the water went down the pilar and collected where the rear passenger feet would be. I since fixed the problem but it was hard to nitice. I suggest doing a quick check by hand on rainy days.

Re: anyone else have moisture problems?
i went to run a new amp wire by my passenger side seat and i pulled my floor mat up and there was all most standing water on the floor pan. idn were it came from ... it hasent rained here in like 2 weeks but i washed my car a few times. i have all new weather stripping and i have a hardtop were is it coming from?
Re: anyone else have moisture problems?
thats where i actually just patched up a rust hole at....right in that same spot from the same reason, i fixed the t-top leak sorta, it still leaks slightly whenit rains real hard, but it was thebest i could do and after spending 2 days trying to fix it, i figured that was the best i would be able to do....i know that my rear seal (aroudn the back window) is shot, but i dont see any water leaking in there...i think when i get some more time im going to take out all the panels in the rear, take out the subs and such and see if theres possibly any holes in there too.....seeing as how i live decently close to the beach, and this car has been decently close to the beach its whole life, there is a good chance that the salt air is rusting away stuff.....i should POR 15 the whole underside lol

could be a long shot, but i once heard someone say that you can adjust how high up your window goes....possibly there is a gap? ....also ive heard of leaking front windows and rust holes through the firewall...best bet is to take a lawn sprinkler and set it up on your car....disappear in the house for like 5-10 minutes and then go out and look around

Re: anyone else have moisture problems?
i think i may have found another culprit in the moisture hunt...i still havent fully fixed my center console yet so im driving around without one, today (with mymusic down low for once) i was able to hear an exceptional amount of road noise coming from nearby my shifter....seems as though the gromit for the shifter cable was very very loose all along...i think that may have a little bit to do with the moisture problems here along with the semi-large rust hole that i found....i still havent had time to get apart the rear of the car yet to search there, but that'll be up next....i assure you

Re: anyone else have moisture problems?
i sat in my car while my mom ran water on my door to see were it was coming from an water is coming around the window by the black triangle thing ... so my window needs to go up higher? how do i go about doing that?
Re: anyone else have moisture problems?
now remember im just going off of what ive been told.....
but someone here told me that when you take off the door panel, you can find a stopper screw that adjusts how high it allows your window to go up, now i never went searching for this screw at all, but you may be able to find something if you do a search on the website, such as 'adjusting side windows' or something to that effect
