key wont turn!!! need help :(

so i go to start my 89 firebird today, and the key turns like normal, then just stops.... i try to turn it back and it wont go back, i keep moving it around (forcefully) and it does nothing.... and i can take the key out when i shouldnt be able to.... and the key doesn't go all the way back to off position

so i guess something is broken inside the steering column? anyone know what it would be?

here is a little video of the problem....

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/3F35dHHTJeo&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/3F35dHHTJeo&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

look here if that doesn't work.

Re: key wont turn!!! need help :(

My 92 gets stuck sometimes in the foward position (won't turn off). I use some WD 40 sprayed in the lock cylinder and everything works fine for like 6-8 months.

is it an automatic or standard?...i know on standard, you have to push down on a switch just behind the key switch
