cruise control no work?

for almost a year now my cruise control hasnt worked, ive checked to make sure the wires are plugged in, i puta new vacuum hose on it from the vacuum chamber and that didnt help....everything is hooked up properly but it doesnt work....also when i squeeze the diaphram on the cruise control ihear it whistle, is that supposed to happen? is maybe there something wrong with the vacuum within the cruise control or is the unit just broken?

Re: cruise control no work?

Im not a pro at cruise but I know that the actual diaphram will whistle a little but check the canister for leaks. I fixed my fiero's cruise control by finding a couple rust holes in the vacume canister and I just cleaned it and painted it with under body coating (rubberized). I think my 92 has the same problem but I have been to busy to even fix my air dam so cruise is not a top concern but I would have to put my money on a leak at the canister also since I checked everything else.

Guessing: shot servo (IIRC, I've had four remans in my car) or cruise control module, VSS problem, vac leak at the brake pedal.
