gas pedal sticks help!
every time i start the car for the first time of the day
i put the car in gear and my gas pedal seems stuck
not locked in stuck just takes alot extra pressure from my foot to un hindge it and press it down then is moves up n down fine
i try not to put too much pressure on it cuz ill go speeding forward or backwards out of control
jsut very annoying.
not sure if the this is interior or transmission./engine related
anybody experience this? do i need to oil the pedal where its bolted to the floor?
do i need to check the transmission cable for adjustment?

Sounds like you have carbon build up in the throttle body. You can remove the throttle body and clean it on the bench.
Otherwise get some good intake system cleaner / carb and choke cleaner.
Remove the intake hose and start the vehicle
Rev up the vehicle by hand while spraying the cleaner into the throttle body.
Run the whole can through the motor and see how clean you can get it.
If that doesn't work your going to have to remove the throttle body and clean it on the bench. All that requires is a new gasket.

Re: gas pedal sticks help!
i have a tpi and teh throttle body is brand new remanufactured perfectly clean
im sckeptical if the blades are not calibrated/cut correctly because i got a slightly high idle around 800-900 in park or if the new spring in the throttle body is too strong or too wound up
and i can rev my hand in the engine bay and i dont have to try hard to rev the throttle
but at the gas pedal its that first push of the day tahts annoying and touchy but if its the blades tehn wehy isnt it doign it all the time all day

Re: gas pedal sticks help!
Um... is it hard to push while the car is running and in park or neutral? If it just takes the one push in the morning to get it moving freely, then do it in park or neutral....you know...to totally avoid the whole going out of control thing.
If it only does it when you are in gear, maybe its soemthing in the kick down cable or in the kickdown valve in the trans?

Another thing to check is to see if the throttle sticks by hand in the morning.
If it does, that eliminates the cable and pedal assy

Re: gas pedal sticks help!
If it was mine I would disconnect all the cables the night before, let is sit and try the throttle by hand first thing in the morning.
If the throttle body is free, try the throttle pedal next, then pull on the kick down cable by hand.
Process of elimination
