speedometer cluster

Car: 1989 Camaro rs
Engine: TBI 305
Transmission: t5
Axle/Gears: 3.08
speedometer cluster

a friend bought a 87 z28 and the speedometer cluster in it is a 145. he stripped the car and i took the speedometer off. well the mileage gears and everything where screwed up so i just took the needle off and took off the speedometer plate that has the numbers on it. so my question is can i put this place in place of the one in my 89 camaro that reads 110. will my speedometer still read okay and all that?

Welcome to TGO. Yes. Recalibration after removing the needle may be a problem (frankly, I'm amazed that you managed to get if off without breaking it). I'd recommend swapping the speedo head into your cluster, if your cluster functions as designed. Check the following link for other considerations:
