not a fan, at all.
Re: Anyone ever do this to your camaro?
Good fab skills.
Couple reasons why I don't like it though.
To me, amps are nothing but not power supplies. Why not hide them, its like showing off your battery.
You only need one good sub to have a balanced or good sound system. Anything more than that is excessive and a boat anchor. If you like excessive bass then its no big deal.
I would be afraid to park the car anywhere. Just asking to get broken into.

Well, obviously quite a bit of work went into this, BUT, I think it looks just tackie; plus it's not even close to practical. But whatever floats your boat.

Re: Anyone ever do this to your camaro?
personally i think that a n2o bottle and fire extinguisher looks way more bad *** then two dinner plates in the back seat. ive got two twelve inch subs but there in the trunk where they belong. im pretty sure someones done something similar to this tho, try a search

It might have been a state law that those remain in the vehicle.

Re: Anyone ever do this to your camaro?
I think thats pretty cool and like it. I think if I had a convertible I'd try something like that... just to make people take a double look... But when I retire my Trans Am from daily driving, I plan to do something like this...
Re: Anyone ever do this to your camaro?
I never been too much of a fan of removing the rear seats for a sub enclosure, especially when there is enough room in the hatch area for a adequate bass.
Worst thing you can do to a Camaro / Firebird......and don't get me started on a "wall"
If you want a 2-seater, buy a truck or even a Corvette.

Re: Anyone ever do this to your camaro?
everyone keeps saying STOLEN, ever heard of insurance?
thats look very well built unlike some other systems that get thrown together.
buy a truck or a corvette? hmmm the price tag versus anywhere from 900 to 3k for a thirg gen thats why. I usually keep my rear seats folded down anyways I though about removing them. the system setup is a cool idea and if you dont want it to get STOLEN then tint the windows and dont advertise everywhere that you have a big bad sub setup.
if you did it and did it right in a third gen that would be bad *** who cares about the rear seats every one here is acting like they use theirs as a grocery getter I guess lots of ppl here use their 3rd gens as their one and only DD.

As for insurance; Good luck recovering even half of what it will take to rebuild the system back to what it was, and the feeling of "Violation" never goes away!

Re: Anyone ever do this to your camaro?
Thanks, like I said Ill try and get some night pics up... and right now I'm in the middle of tearing my interior apart so I didnt focus on wiring too much... Im replacing all the gray with black (carpet, plastic, headliner, everything lol) so once I re-lay the carpet the wires will all be hidden and the amp is actually going in my spare compartment

Re: Anyone ever do this to your camaro?
The angled mounted amp goes great with the inverted sub!I can see 2 end cap/mounts on the amp, holding it up. Then a LIGHT underglow piece of neon/LED light under the amp. Kinda backlighting it, but not lighting the rear hatch area at all.
I can't do subs like that, or I'd have no place to put my groceries. Yes, my GTA is my daily drover. And the rear seat area "belongs" to my 6yr old Rottie.

Dropping speakers and audio equipment in a third gen... or almost any car for that matter... spend your money elsewhere. The only sound out of my car that I care about is what comes out of the tailpipe.
It doesnt make me angry or anything but the pimp my ride / rap car culture is a fad I hope doesnt stick around.

Now I have to disagree with you on this one.
Speakers and audio equipment arnt just for the "Rap Car Culture" (only loud rattle my screws loose subs are =D) Speakers and Audio equipment are for anyone who appreciates music, and wants to hear all the tones to there fullest.
Trust me, I use to think that subs are only for heavy bass line rap hip hop songs, but the I l drove an Z28 with 2 12" with The Whos album playing, and the quality of the sound difference blew my mind. 2 months later I have my own set up. 500watts is enought to keep me happy.
just my opinon, but dont beat something down untill you atleast try it in your own fation. My two cents.

I have to agree. Over the years I have built many systems in a wide variety of vehicles, in all different price ranges.
Now, in my own cars, I have always gone for "Realistic staging". I would go to concerts (Mostly Pink floyd and the like) and then try to recreate that sound and feeling in my own cars. I do like to keep as much of the equipment hidden as possible, though. My 90 RS had a 12" kicker (Solo-baric) Hidden where the rear "Glovebox" was and the 2 alpine V-12 amps (One 5 channel and one mono) hidden where the spare tire once was. It was really an awesome system. (That car is a track car now, so the system is now gone.)
