Identify this part, anyone?
Identify this part, anyone?
I cleaned my garage the other day and came across this part which I originally found on the rear seat way back when I got my car. Had completely forgotten about it, but would actually like to know what it is.
The car is a '88 GTA Trans Am. As you can (hopefully) see from the picture, there are two holes on the sides of the part obviously meant to attach it somewhere. There's a four-spike connector and a tube next to it which might be a sensor or something?
The sticker is pretty worn out but it says "BOSCH, VAC 12V, 9 132 996 307, Made in Germany, FG 206 26 152/" followed by some handwritten markings I can't make out".
It would seem like it belongs to the interior of the car.
Any ideas?

Is there anything you don't know Thirdgenranch?!?!?! I assume Denny's on the other side of the computer correct? I guess when you take apart as many cars as you guys do, a person tends to know them pretty good lol.

Yeah, I've got ten cars of my own and have personally completely stripped about 300 so you tend to pick up a few things along the way.

Since you obviously know a bit about these things (an understatement if there ever was one, it seems), do you know where the part goes? Can't find any screw holes under the seat. So does it go on the floor or on the seat itself? Any placement info would help.

300 cars is awesome! So when you say "tons of parts available" you litterally mean TONS lol. I know who to get parts from for now on.

Yep, we've parted out about 300 so far and we normally pick up about a car a week so there's always lots more parts coming in. Unfortunately, we haven't been picking up as many cars this year because we spent a lot of time getting the website up and running and once that was done it was time to get ready for Thirdgen Fest and that takes up an incredible amount of time.
However, now that Thirdgen Fest is over we expect to get back to picking up about a car a week any time. With the "What's new" section up and running on the website it will be easy for everybody to see when any new parts come in.

It attaches directly to the seat. You should be able to see where it attaches but I can probably get you a picture if you can't figure it out.
Re: Identify this part, anyone?

But if should be visible without removing the seat, somewhere in front of the bottom of the seat? So just tilting the seat should be enough to make the place for the screws visible?
I'll have to keep your company in mind... Not easy to find parts for 3rd gens in Scandinavia. Even harder to find good places to repair them, though.

Well, if I can't figure it out, I guess I might as well sell the darn car and buy an old Toyota Corolla or something...

That attaches to the front portion of the driver seat, but its difficult to see the screw holes w/the seat bolted down.
