Has anyone found seats that bolt right in to a thirdgen?
Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone has stumbled across another car make/model with seats that can bolt straight in to a trans am without any mods and sits at the right height?
There's an exxxxxtttrrreeeemely limited amount of 4th gens in OZ and on the off chance someone crashes one, the seats are always some rediculous price.

s10's, cavaliers, pretty much most 80's gm cars the seat tracks wont be the same on some but the seats will bolt on to your seat tracks

I know the seat track mounts are 13 inches on center squared (where it bolts to the floor pan), if that helps any.

Try doing a search. You'll probably find about a thousand threads... this has been a VERY popular topic over the years.
4th gen seats bolt in.
Just about any 80s & early/mid 90s GM seat will probably bolt to your stock tracks.

anyone try the seats in the SS turbo cobalts? those are some comfy seats.

Thats a question we were wondering in the seat swap thread, will the comodore (aka GTO) seats fit? I know oz has some strick laws concerning parts swappage. Adaptor brackets and such for brakes need to be certifies and I assume it's the same for seats, thus the "direct fit" requirement by the OP.
GTO's are rarish but Catteras are common and have nice leather seats for someone not interested in having the best holding power.
To the OP, I have a set of manual 4th gen firebird seats sitting around. Charcoal and in decent shape. If the shipping dosnt kill I'd part with them for $50 AD. Its what I paid for them before I found a set of power seats.

shipping would probably kill.
I'm going to try and organise a shipping container later this year and see if people over want to all go in, get the shipper and fill it to the brim with parts from the states.
get everything organised to be put in the shipper and then sort it when it gets here.
