4th gen radio in a 3rd gen

4th gen radio in a 3rd gen

was wondering if any1 had any threads on how to wire a 4th gen cd player into a third gen if some one could send me like a wireing diagram for this it would be great

Judging by your other posts this is for your 87 GTA. If so, you should not have to change anything besides maybe an antenna adapter. The radio harness should be the same for the late model radio as the harness in your car. Just plug and play.

yeah they wires arent the same in my factory harness , i have only 6 wires from my harness which im going to cut off those connectors and im goin to splice on to the harness i got from the 4th gen radio it has about 12 - 15 wires

i have two plugs that plug in the back of the radio not to sure if it is for theft or wat ? any post of any better directions maybe wire to wire

i have a stereo from an 02 avalanche in mine. just bought the adapter harness.

wow thats nice ok well im sure i can figure it out , my car only has a power ground and 8 wires for my speakers

They make an adaptor harness you can use instead of cutting your wires.The 3 big plugs go in one end and the other end has a 21 pin plug which is what the newer radios use.You will alos need an antenna adaptor as the newer radios have a smaller antenna plug.I had to do this in my 86 iroc when I installed a mid 90`s delco cd player
