No Rearseat Pics

Could people post their pictures of their car with no back seats? Curious how it looks... I have black car with black interior.. So i don't think it would look bad but curious what others look like.

The seats are really easy to take out.. so you could just get a look for yourself..

Re: No Rearseat Pics

Actually its fine; i don't need the pictures. I removed the bottom part, i can't get the folding seat part out... I unbolted the belt hook on the seat, i just can't unbolt the seat? I can't find where to do it... It looks like its been welded to the body... how did everyone remove it?

Re: No Rearseat Pics

There are nuts on the underside of the hinged area. The seat has studs, that slip into brackets that are welded to the body. Nut is on the bottom...

Re: No Rearseat Pics

I saw that an wanted to ask questions first, because the rest of the stud is shaved clean, no threads so i didn't want to risk it.. but i'll do that when i can, its very tight to get in there and take it out considering its a 12mm, bolt to carpet is a tight squeeze.

Re: No Rearseat Pics

You need to get yourself a set of ratchet wrenches. They are a little pricey, but if you watch sears hardware they go on sale sometimes. They're perfect for those. I think they are 13mm though...

The studs are smooth on the end so that when you put them through the brackets you arent bashing the threads and marring them. It also helps to get the nut on, since its not an easily accessible area.

Re: No Rearseat Pics

I say keep the back seat with out it the interior just looks unfinished and it does not look right. The fox-body mustang looks good without one because it turns it into a flat open space.

Re: No Rearseat Pics

don't use them. don't care for them. less weigh when out. i see positives. its not a show car so don't really care to much if they're out. just going to adhesive some black carpet to the plate that bolts the bottom to the seat. looks fine imo.

Re: No Rearseat Pics

Nice pictures. You must hare re-carpeted though. Otherwise there are open gaps showing the painted floorpan of the car if you remove the lower seats. At lease there were on my cars.

No prob...those ratchet wrenches come in MAJOR handy. I use them almost as much as sockets these days.
