Re: Everybody has rules for their car..what are yours?
When I first got my car I was much more picky.....
1. NO smoking in side car.... even though I'm a smoker(but ever in the car)
2. Do not place feet on dash.
3. No eating inside.
4. Drinking.....only from bottles w/ lids! (coffeee cups are not aloud)
5. I don't like moving my seat up, so NO back seat passengers!
6. Shoes must be clean....no mud!
7. If you are feeling sick.....get in your own car or take bus! (long story!)
8. If the car has been clean and washed for a show...no finger prints. Use door handle to open and close. (I punched my best friend for T-Bagging the hood- were still best of friends though).
9. If you wanted to put on make-up...you should've done it at home, NOT in the car.
10. NO SEX while driving.....Tried once and almost crashed it. But my DD is all good!
11. Don't lean on, sit on, rest on car...(jeans w/ metal buttens, belts w/metal things, and girls wearing too many rings on fingers)
12. Always close the door by hand..... Do not kick or bump door closed.
13. Always buckle up!
14. IF the car is dusty, do not draw on car. Do not wipe fingers acroos either!

Re: Everybody has rules for their car..what are yours?
you may sit down, IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, NOT THE DRIVER SEAT with your clean feet on the floor, and your clean hands in your lap, put on your seat belt, and only speak when spoken to.
NOTHING ELSE IS PERMITTED.
THERE IS NO A/C OR RADIO, DEAL WITH IT.
NO COMPLAINING
TOUCHING ANYTHING = NO
FOOD/DRINK/SMOKE = NO
NO EXCEPTIONS, IDC WHO YOU ARE
haha, i'm pretty strict.

Re: Everybody has rules for their car..what are yours?
I'm quite picky with my car, as I have been with all other before her, I get it from my dad. some people don't like that I impose soo many rules for my car, but its mine, and in the end if something happens I have to deal with it:
1. no smoking
2. absolutely no eating of any kind(I've thrown peoples food out the window)
3. all drinks must have lids, and remain secured at all times
4. No kids, other than my little sibs, or my niece
5. No sitting on my car, ANYWHERE. and especially with jeans(I'll say it once, and next time I'm gonna swing)
6. No fingers on windows or paint, even to close the door.
7. don't touch my radio, I like my music, and I'm quite courteous not to offend anybody when I have a guest.
8. Nobody sits in my back seat, but the kids I mentioned earlier. I got a car with 2 doors for a reason.
9. you cannot stink, it will sink into the fabric.
10. if your clothes are dirty, wet, grimey, or muddy, I will be happy to call you a cab, unless you have a vagina. I will allow you to ride naked.
11.No dirty shoes either, I don't like cleanin up those messes.
12. Sit back and shut up while im racing, UNLESS you see cops.(I will allow one false alarm, unless it costs me that current race)
13. I reserve the right to add, or modify certain rules as I see fit. Its my ****, and if you don't like it, WALK
14. NOBODY drives my car but ME, and on occasion, my father who also happens to be my mechanic when I can't fix it.

Though it was funny, it may get you busted by a Moderator. Can be offensive to other members too. Keep the slang terms muted and not replaced by symbols either. Learned from experience.

Damm sensative fatties.
Still anyways, some of the rules here by people make them seem like real A-holes
. I know I get mad when people do stupid things in my Cam but jesus. Why don't you guys get a 15 point harness to strap them in and stop them from doing anything stupid.

Re: Everybody has rules for their car..what are yours?
Not trying to seem "sensative" but, I think I can speak for most of us with rules. We know some of our rules may make us seem like an a-holes, but we aren't oprah, or bill gates and don't have billions of dollars to fix stuff over and over again, as most of us have already fixed what careless previous owners have messed up. Most of us work hard, most of the week, and take pride in our f-bodys. We don't want a careless, well-meaning friend or family member to make an avoidable mistake. So... we set these rules in place, so that we don't make more work for ourselves, and can have the lasting enjoyment. If you just had your car painted, you wouldn't want fingerprints all over it; if you just redid your interior, YOURSELF, you wouldn't want muddy shoes or drinks spilled all over it; if you just got a brand new dash pad, because your previous one has cracks or grease spots all over it(left by people putting their hands on it), you wouldn't want people putting their hands all over it again, WOULD YOU?? If you just put $2000 worth of audio in your car, and you spent 2 hours calibrating the sound, you wouldn't want someone who was inexperienced with the head unit to accidently mess up the calibration by pressing the wrong button. I don't mean to bang this into the ground here, but I think it is necessary to make each individual point as to why there are soooo many rules. not to be an a-hole, but to maintain and prevent future issues. its just good practice!!

Don't touch the glass! Don't wipe the inside of the glass with hands or anything else. Let the defroster work, that's what it's for. Relax. Always wear your seatbelt.

No need to add the douche smilie. The joke was not aimed towards you, it was just a random joke from the previous posts. Little advice, Let people continue what their doing and let them know the hard way about being careful of what they post. It will just turn into random idiotic posting like you just did now.
I mean after all the things that happened in the year of driving my Cam as my DD, I can understand being strict, and some rules said here I will make sure are followed when shes DD'able again but jesus, some rules make it seem like you guys would rather let them ride on the roof to prevent anything.
I don't have the funds for a harness, but I do have duct tape........

For the author of this thread I apologise in behalf of the guys who like to dog down others. Obviously they have hi-jacked this thread by insulting fellow members without realizing the name of this thread "Re: Everybody has rules for their car..what are yours?" From here on out, I'll just let them

Insulting? So a random joking around with another fellow member about fat chicks, then was turned into ''Hey dont insult fatties, they will suspend your account from not loving fatties'' from yourself was turned into insulting you? It was a joke that was turned into something bigger by yourself. End it. There is no and was not any insulting but just random bickering on post counts. End it
As for the 2pac thing, who cares, thats personal style and liking, take it with a grain of salt. Ain't nothing but a G-thang.

Re: Everybody has rules for their car..what are yours?
Not sure....for as many rules as I have seen....it seems only one person rides in these cars. I have 2 kids, and they break almost all of them on a regular basis. Hence, I don't feel like jumping on painting the car a really nice black only to see my daughter streak her fingers across the car.
I love her to death...so its impossible to
her from my car.

1. DONT close the door by the window!
2. NO backseat drivers, I actually took the back seats out when I re-did the carpet
3. DONT bitch about wind, I like my windows down and T-Tops off.
4. DONT mess with climate controls or radio for any reason!
5. YOU are the cupholder
6. dont like the way I drive? then walk.
7. DONT diss my car.
AND the most important rule of them all... no one is allowed of even THINKING about driving, revving, starting, or sitting anywhere but the passenger seat of my GTA.
I don't think this is too much to ask? lol

I rarely let anyone ride in my Camaro. Only my closest friends. If I plan to take passengers then I drive my truck.

If it breaks while driving we are going to fix it THEN.
If you break it,better get some money out THEN.
Unless you are a CERTIFIED mechanic, dont tell me what you think is wrong with my car.
My car is not a racecar,no I will not race the Dbag in the Civic to prove us both wrong.
Now normally I would have a few rules that would state things like no eating/drinks/pets/dirt or W/E but the PO of my camaro must not have cared so until I fix everything
Sit down
Buckle up
And shut up or walk.

I wouldn't even pay attention to anyone ''certified'' unless I know you are good. I have countless friends who are not certified and I would take their word when looking into things. A friend of mine of example that is currently going to UTI, I would not care if he has 10 years of experience, hes not going anywhere near my car. At most he will only be allowed to sit and watch as I repair my vehicle. Which he did last time he was here.

As a matter of fact I am. Still in the reserves, contemplating returning to Active Duty (going back on the tanks though if I do so I may need an SN change at that point lol)
Carlos773, I have to agree with you. I've been tinkering with cars since I was 16. My friends and family trust me more with diagnosing their car problems than they do most mechanics. But since I've never been to "school" for it I'll never get hired to be a mechanic by anybody even though I can pull and rebuild a motor in a heartbeat. Only thing I'm not very experienced with is automatic transmissions.
