Re: crack around center a/c vent

drill a small hole at the end of the crack, that will stop it from progressing any further

I found those white plastic clips on ebay. You mean those ones that slide into the pillar trim right?

The sellers name was pageautosupply and he has all those clips, also those X mas tree type things.

That is a common spot to crack.

I repaired mine by removing the entire dash (big job) and using plastic epoxy and fiberglass mesh reinforcment. Not sure how long it will last, but I have put 2,500 miles or so on the car so far and all the repairs I did are holding together.

This type of reinforcement is really the only good way to repair these dashes. It's an even better idea to do this BEFORE the dash cracks.

In my case, I used a piece of 1/8" ABS plastic to strengthen the back of the dash. I used a toothpick to get some plastic epoxy into the crack itself, then made sure the crack was pressed together as tightly as possible, used more plastic epoxy to attach the piece of ABS to the back, then clamped everything tightly until the epoxy dried. Now the crack is almost impossible to see from the front, and is not expanding anymore.
