first of all thanks to all that posted on my other thread.
i got my gauges (speedo and tach are 3 3/8 and fuel volts temp oil are 2")
from oreilly for around 250 not bad at all.
here are some pics of what i got done so far i will post more pics as i go

so i started to put my gauges in and i found the wire for the fuel gauge behind the back rear seat but i cant seem to find the other end any were ?

does any one know where it is i got my center console out and still cant find it

Like the gauge setup very clean.

 

I think you're looking for a Purple wire. There should be two connectors behind the instrument cluster. I think it's on the one to the right.

 

BTW, the gauges look good.

 

thanks and thats where my problem started guy woh had car before me cut all the wires out so i need to find where the wire is ran to the front.

Those seem like nice gauges, especially for what you paid. I had no idea you could even get through-the-dial lighted gauges for that kind of money. Do you have a manufacturer & part numbers that you could share? I'd like to learn more about them.

 

they are from oreilly they are equus there is 3 series you can get i got the 7000 series cuz it goes with my interior they dont come in a set but they have everything you need. i got the 2" for the oil fuel temp volts and the tach and speedo in 3 3/8

 

Those seem like a great looking set of gauges for the money. It's a shame that the needles aren't illuminated.

 

how did u get these custom gauages to work? i have 91 camaro rs and just got me lt1 engine i need someone help me to swamp the cluster. got pics of how u do your work? hope u can help me out

 

they are all mechanical guages even my speedo. i will take some pics of it tomorrow sence i have to take them back out to set my tach sence i forgot

That does look good. What did you mount the gauges in Plexiglas? I like that, but I want a white background.

 

i use plexiglass i use spray paint on the back so is shiny on the front im sure you can use white spray paint post some pics bet it will look really nice

i dont mean to invade tread im just new here want to know ppl and share ideas about third gen i made this mi self spend alot of time on this hope u like its on my 91 camaro forgot to install the tach went i took the pick but u get the idea

 

im not a fan of carbon fiber but that looks great what size gauges you use? cuz you got 7 of them in there i had hard time fitting 6.

 

Im going to have to look into the equus gauges as the stock ones in my 85 are junk...lol.... yay time to run lots and lots of wiring....

 

One question I do have... are there different colors for them to light up as or is it just the white? I found this panel... will prob. use this...

they light up blue they have leds inside with the niddle red .. and they are 2 and 1/16 and the big ones are 3 3/8 i had a hard time to making them fit but got them there lol they do fit perfect u just need to mesured rite

I am going to make one using the faceplate on the link I posted and use the oreillys gauges as its a crap load cheaper than buying a prefabed setup.

 

hahaha true that mines totals cost where hi because they are autometer ..

 

I would LOVE to get the Autometer cobalts but that extra saved money can be used elsewhere in the Z28.

 

oh man im using those for my other proyect they run the same has these c2s well my z28 is done im just updating new stuff to it like rims brakes supercharger

same here i got all my little ones first than my speedo and left the most expensive for last the tach i havent got the ones for my 86 cuz im going tt on it and want to wait to see what all im going to need and see what sending units im going to have
