got a 4th gen dash? look inside please!

I'm in the middle of my 4th gen swap I'm using all the wiring from the 4thgen so ill be able to just plug and play.. my question is where have u mounted ur fuse block under the dash? In the forth gen its on the side and not easy to get to when installed in a 3rd gen. I'm sure ill just mount it up underneath when I have the dash completly mounted in the car but I just wanted to see what others have done with it. I have searched threw the dash swaps n not seen any pics or have heard of what they have done with it

Re: got a 4th gen dash? look inside please!

I was able to mount mine in the 4th gen factory location. Can't remember details but the fuse boxes are two parts, the fuse box and a bracket. Always thought it was just one but during my swap I found out I could put the 4th gen bracket on the 3rd gen box and mount it right up. Of course the fuses aren't in the location that the fuse cover says, but oh well. Hope this helps.

im using the 4th gen harness and im asking where other have put it lol .. for right now i have found a lil place on the side of the steering colum and it is mounted on the bar that goes from one side to the other on the car under the dash. dont know what its called but its the lower dash mount bar? fits in there nicely and will be kinda easy to get to for now just wish i could move the wires easyier its so cold out that that they wont move or bend

If you're using the 4th gen harness, why would you move it from where it's supposed to be?? It's a hell of a lot easier to get to then under the dash:

Re: got a 4th gen dash? look inside please!

I replaced my entire harness (save for my engine harness, which is a very stripped down 85 Corvette TPI harness) with a 94 V6 Camaro harness. I rewired every piece of it, stripped out the VATS, Passkey, SIR circuit, ABS circuit, all emissions wiring, added in computer 24-pin connectors so the harness is modular and can be removed in sections, and ran my underhood wiring thru the fenders to keep it hidden. I gained the accessibility of the 4th gen underhood relay box, and a much newer harness 100% compatible with my new 94 dash. I had to re-solder and heat shrink tubing pretty much every wire in the harness, and I adapted it to work with the 3rd gen turn signal setup and a Megasquirt I ECM. The car is now better off than it was to start with, and runs great.
