Re: Installing Carpet ??
You'll be cutting it either way. I ordered mine with the console cut, it came with probably a 6"x6" square cut out where the shifter came through the floor. If you look at the factory carpet, the entire middle section is cut out under the floor console. It wasn't too hard to trim it though with a good sharp razor blade, I cut out quite a bit all the way to the front and probably a foot behind their cut to where the console bolts to the floor. You'll also have to cut out under the rear seats where the rear seat bracket/bolt comes through the floor, and just a little bit along the sill plates.
The console cut did help to get everything centered and started though, so I'd still order it that way.

as G-reg mentioned, the hole will help to get things a bit more centered. I always recommend pulling out the old carpet first and laying it on top of the new one; this will help in seeing what areas need to be trimmed before setting it in place in the car. just make sure to leave a bit of extra - easier to cut off excess then it is to add to an area that's already been cut.

Thanks a lot G-reg,trying to get some input,so you say it's better with the cutout because it will make it easier to center, that makes sense.

Thanks Dan,should I bring in the old carpet and let it warm up first, then lay that on top of the new carpet and make my marks.

I ordered mine with the console cut out and I didn't need to be cut anymore. Just cut a straight line a foot forward and about a half a foot behind the cutout and it fits great.

unroll the old carpet and let it set out for a day or so. they are tightly packaged for shipping and need some time out to get a bit of their mold back. the old carpet should give you a good idea of what the final shape should be, but i'd keep a bit extra around the edges to give you some excess to tweak and fit how you like it to
