What kind of 3rd gen gauges are these?
What kind of 3rd gen gauges are these?
I found a set of gauges,they are from 82-89 I know.
I don't think they are anything special, lol it only reads 85 on the speedo, no rpm gauge just a really big gas gauge in place of it.
and digital oil psi etc.
What year model did this come out of?
I figured a 4 cylinder model/ berlinetta or somethin..

Idiot or dummy "lights" which illuminate to show the driver (dummy) who can't read a gauge that something is amiss. Base model of some sort, I'd guess. Not desirable, IMO.

Not at all desirable, I had them and was one of the first mods I did to my interior to get one with a tach and real gauges.

"Desirable" is a matter of perspective.
You find someone who is restoring a car or trying to keep it as OEM as possible, then yes. Those would be "desirable" pieces.
And if it is a combination of analog & digital gauges:
that alone sounds unusual. I don't recall ever seeing both in the same car, OEM.

If this doesn't work it's listed on Hawks under gauges and inlays, 1st page, and top column to the right.

If your car currently is equipped with gauges, the above won't be plug and play--members who swap from dummy lights to gauges are forced to replace some senders and so on. Nothing digital about the cluster.

True if you want pure original, but imo who wants a gas gauge as big as the speedometer? that space is much better utilized for a tach, and yeah they aren't digital, they are just on or off, good or bad, only berlinettas got digital dashes in the camaros as far as I know, and you would know those if you saw them.
Re: What kind of 3rd gen gauges are these?
When I bought the car (lol it was 4th of july last year when i brought it home)
it didn't have any gauges in it, the dashboard was horrible, no exaggeration it looked like someone beat it with a hammer.
So my dad and I pulled the dash out and I had a later model Iroc Z dash, it was mint cond. and I thought it looked cool.
The only gauges I had for them that would fit was a set of old half moons.
Found out not only was the hookup for the dash way off but the half moons were shot, no rpm, mph, or gas.
Now I'm putting in a dashboard out of another 82-89.
Only gauges I have is the set that I posted this thread on and a set of 145's.
No idea if either of them work..

Wow, that's some stupid looking crap. I've seen the early Camaro speedo's with two needles, but this takes the cake. Idiot lights should not be dressed up to look like gauges.

They don't particularly, at first glance they might though, I think I thought mine were digital for a moment then realized they were just idiot lights, but to me the hugeass fuel gauge takes the cake, I mean who wants a fuel gauge as big as their spedometer, honestly, lol, imo they should've just put tachs on all of them. And I am against idiot lights, though I understand the general populace not being able to be trusted to keep an eye them once in a while...smart car companies make cars for the masses, even the performance ones sadly. Like IRS, personally I don't believe it to be all that better, I look at it like OHC vs. OHV each has pros and cons, but say independent rear suspension to a non car guy looking to buy a fast car and his eyes light up...

Yeah, the giant gas gauge is pretty dumb too. I'm a low-tech man myself when it comes to cars, give me pushrods and a solid axle anyday, less headaches down the road.
