high beam switch and also horn
high beam switch and also horn
I have a Haynes manual. I have the GM shop manual for my 89 Camaro.
I've reviewed the threads with pictures on how to tighten the tilt column
The shop manual does not have good illustrations for what I need
The high beam switch. I have disassembled/resassembeld my column too many times. I get the switch to work and then after about 6 clicks, no more. If I work the metal push rod it's fine. It's that silly plastic piece that is supposed to push the metal rod that is causing me problems. Does anyone have any fool proof tips or even a photo on how you reassembled it so it actually works more than 6 clicks?
Also, I think i must have lost something to the horn during the disassembly/ressemblies. Now that doesn't work either. Any photo there would be appreciated
A completely rebuilt/restored vehicle and 2 silly things are driving me nuts

Re: high beam switch and also horn
Sounds like you had the little plastic doohickey in right, or it wouldn't have worked at all or even gone back together. Did you fine-adjust the dimmer switch position on the column?
I know you've just put in a floor dimmer, from your current thread. I actually went the other way, and removed the floor dimmer the po had put in, to restore the original function. It was a little bit of stuffing around to get the ignition and dimmer switches in the right position so the rods would work reliably, but once set they have worked right for years.

I messed with everything. It just wasn't worth it to me thus why I went to the foot switch. Next up is the horn
