Got some new seats!

65 bucks! And yes. They are mismatched. I do not care! Only took a couple of holes drilled.

I'm pretty happy over all. I can always have them recovered or dye them. I think I'll deal with them.

Re: Got some new seats!

Not bad a little stiff. But they're brand new so I'm sure they'll get softer .

it be the perfect time to dye the carpet and seats with the same dye so they match.

Re: Got some new seats!

Is Dying suede simple? I want to dye them both black, and I want to dye the carpet, which I'm sure I'll need a different dye than the seats?

Re: Got some new seats!

You're gonna need to do something about the seatbelt hoop. If you dont get one it's gonna be really annoying and it'd be pretty unsafe in an accident too.

That solves that problem... but still, harnesses aren't street legal. So have a backup plan if you can in case the popos give you a hard time.

Re: Got some new seats!

How did you get the seats bolted down? Did you use new mounts or rigged the old ones? Im in the middle of trying to get mine in, its pissing me off. I used a lathe to drill holes into the stock ones to mach the length only to find out its to short width wise. Im about to make a temp-let and make custom ones if i fail again.

The front holes matched up to the rails, then I slid the sliders all the way up to drill holes for the rear. I got lucky and was able to get all four nuts on the floor on each seat.

Re: Got some new seats!

some harnesses aren't legal. Scroth makes DOT approved harnesses. or if u have a scratch DOT tag u could have it sewn in on the back of one of the straps, lol.

even if they dont match, thats a heck of a deal and look good too. little dye should make it a steal.

Thats what I was thinking!! He should have dyed the carpet before installing the seats...If both the seats and carpet were dyed that interior wouldnt look half bad. Right now with mismatched seats and filthy carpet it looks like crap.

To the OP--you could have done this right in 1 day instead you cut corners and just installed the seats. If you really care about your car do it the right way!

Re: Got some new seats!

The car isn't even fully running yet. It's a project, and not on the road. I was making sure they fit is all. The carpet will be dyed and cleaned. Along with the seats. It will get done don't worry. I'm not one to cut corners.
