help with removing speedometer and replacing dash lights
Hi guys,
I am trying to change the dash lights and add white face gauges in my 89 camaro. I am stuck! (my baby is all torn up and I'm freaking out ova here!!!) I can't remove the speedometer gauge and I am clueless on how to install the new lights. Do I have to remove the white plastic piece that holds the gauges for light installation or it there an easier way? I gonna add a pic of where I'm at in the process so u can better advice me. All advice is appreciated thanks in advance for the help!

Re: help with removing speedometer and replacing dash lights
You will have to remove the cluster to change the dash lights. Fairly easy to do. Just a matter of removing the faceplate, disconnecting the speedo cable and removing the nuts that bolt the cluster to the dash. Little tricky to get the cluster out with the steering wheel in the way but tilt it down and the cluster will come out. With the cluster out, you will see all the sockets that the bulbs are in. Twist the sockets and they come right out to change the bulbs.

Hardest part is disconnecting the speedo cable.

Why not just take off the dash pad and reach down behind the cluster
and remove the bulbs and holders from the rear?
and remove the bulbs and holders from the rear?
