hey guys... my gta is flame red and i was wondering what color interior would you guys choose... would you choose black or beechwood as the interior color... right now its beechwood but i have considered swapping to all black interior... i sorta want the red exterior/black interior combo... but i know the gta's theme is gold and beechwood compliments that very well... im having a hard time choosing.... your thoughts are welcomed...

 

Beechwood

 

I dig the black interior. Its timeless and you pretty much can't go wrong with it. Plus, IMO it's the easiest color to dye if you have something that doesn't match

Beechwood. Black is just so generic, it has no appeal to it. I cringe whenever I see someone convert there interior to black.

 

Beechwood. Tan and dark red look so good together. And everyone does black, including me. :x

 

Beechwood. I've had 3 nice Trans Am with all 3 of the popular interior colors, here were my thoughts:

'87 T/A, Maroon with gray interior - Hated it. None of the gray pieces seem to match in color, and the seats were a very unattractive light gray. Even with later 4th gen dark gray seats, it still always looked bad to me.

'87 T/A, Black with black interior - Light years ahead of the gray interior. Looked decent with the factory seats, but looked sweet after I converted to Ebony 4th Gen seats. The main complaints I had with black were that it got dusty super fast, it's nearly impossible to keep the carpet clean, and it felt like I was riding around in a cave all the time. It's just too much dark color with the dark grey console and dash and black everything else.

'88 GTA, Flame Red with Beechwood Interior - By far my favorite. Looks good, colors match well, and the contrast between the dark gray console, top of the door strips, and dash sets off the rest of the tan interior very nicely. Also, all the tan colors seem to match very well, unlike the gray interior. The biggest benefit to the tan interior is it feels a lot roomier and brighter, and it's much easier to keep clean. It also just seems to have more class, and that's what you're going with in a GTA anyways, right?

Long story short, black looks nice, but has some serious drawbacks. I don't think it would be anywhere near worth your hassle to make the switch.

Beechwood. Everyone has black, it's boring. Not to mention hot in the summer. Also I can't tell you how tired I am of seeing people convert cars to black interiors from another color....they always end up too shiny, too purple, and "gummy" looking. Keep it original, I think Beechwood is a great color, particularly on a Flame Red Metallic GTA.

 

I'm gonna call it buckskin. There is no better looking car in the world than buckskin and red.

I would keep the beechwood.

Yes Black interior on a red car is a "safe" choice.

You can dress it up though.

Replace the top stitch in your seats with a red thread
Get a logo embroidered on the headrest
I may even put a light brown or red carpet in, it will stay cleaner longer.

I second that and FNFAL308 taste. All black interiors are dull and boring. My Camaro had all black from the factory. It would heat up in the summer and after the years sun shinning through the T-tops it bleached alot of black to a dingy color. Go the black and tan route or black and silver. Anything besides one solid color.

sorry for the late response.... yeah im going to stay with beechwood but add black accents as well.... i realized that black is too hard to maintain and it looks boring...

 

the tan or beechwood works in gtas better than it does in camaros

 

Ha! I would say "stay original". My Flame red 87 GTA has RED interior.
