Shifter **** - Plug and play
Not looking to change up the whole shifter, just looking to get maybe a T-Handle or pistol grip, with button, B&M or Hurst Shifter. My car is automatic. I always drive with my hand on it, it looks more comfortable and it will make my interior look a little more like a superhero's fighter jet . Are any of these shifter ***** as easy to install as just taking the stock OEM shifter **** off and putting this one on? Any help or pictures would help. What is the thread size on the OEM shifter? I can't put an entire megashifter on there because I think it would block my nav/stereo even more that the stock shifter does. I asume that button is the release to move from certain gears but what is the wire for? I'm also trying to get everything I need to go to the powder coater since either 1 bolt or a box of parts cost their minimum powder coating fee of $50. Not looking for a 8-ball or a skull! LOL! That was my last Formula! The other treads on this topic, didn't help much. What are my options?

Re: Shifter **** - Plug and play
Just buy the whole B&M megashifter. You will not be let down, I bought my 89 rs with it installed and I have driven my friends 92 rs without one, and man is it the difference! Like driving a manual without the annoying clutch. Pick and stay in any gear and it looks badass.

89iroc89 - I agree, it is sick looking. Do you have pics? What does it take to install?

I gotta get that shifter! Your car looks great. Thanks for the pics. Question: Will the exposed metal parts come apart so I could powder coat them? Or are there lots of rivets and welds?

Trying to get a bin of stuff together to take to the powder coater. That Shifter would be the final item I could think of power coating.
