89 camaro rs dash lights and shifter lights won't turn on?

89 camaro rs dash lights and shifter lights won't turn on?
I can't figure out why. I mean accidently touched to wires together for the shifter light and now none of them will turn on. Any ideas?

You popped a fuse.

I checked the fuses under the dash and none of them are blown.

Just the lights. All the gauges are working fine.

Even though when I pull it back it turns the head lights on? Also if I turn it to the left it turns the dome lights on?

Most of what I'm finding on the web points to a bad negative connection. You should have one in the driver's footwell. Make sure it has a good ground.

How do I pull the whole instrument cluster out? I ask this because I believe that the wiring diagram says that there might be circuit breakers behind it.

Loosen the bolts that hold the steering wheel in place enough to drop it down 1-2 inches, and the cluster slides right out.

But, no circuit breakers are behind it.
