What the hell is that bulb for teh gear shift indicator? looks like its hard wired right in..
How do you replace that thing and what the hell is it???

I think the socket either pops in and out or its a quarter turn type socket

I thought it was a quarter turn and it came out. They are usually 194 bulbs.

I was thinking you hadnt pulled it out of the shift indicator yet.
That just pulls out like a dash bulb but its smaller.. (I think)

It's a 37 (IIRC) and it is a royal PITA to get out of there. I think I grabbed mine with pliers when I changed it years ago (not running it now). It's tougher than you think because it's so small.

In other words, I believe that the trade number of the bulb is a 37... Similar to the dash using 194s, the parking lights and brake lights using 1157s, and the rear base turn signals using 1156s.

Don't leave the tail of the bulb in the socket, or you'll make other issues. Good luck.

Open the jaws of the pliers wide and use some type of rubber to cushion the squeeze.

That will break it for sure.

Maybe a small pair of vice grips so you can control how much the tips close. Don't want to crush the glass.
