help with gas gauge...

help with gas gauge...

Low fuel light was on but the fuel gauge says full... I think my gauge is shorting out... Any suggestions on how to fix it?

im not an expert on the berlinetta gauges/senders in any way, but i would trace the gauge wire back to the tank, make sure its not showing bare wire anywhere that could ground out, i also have never had a thirdgen with a low fuel light, so im not sure if the sensor for that is on the sending unit or seperate, if it is separate its possible the sender on the float for the gauge is bad and reading full all the time

Most likely a bad fuel tank sending unit or a short if it is pegged full. The sending units go bad over time unfortunately. If it's the sending unit don't even bother getting one used as they break very easily, new with a warranty.

Alright thanks. The guy I bought it from said the guy before him put in a new tank and the gauge never worked for him either
