I recently replaced my headliner and some how broke the plastic that holds the two metal prongs for the map light assembly making the dome and maplights not work. I goggled it but cant seem to find where I can get a replacement. Can anyone offer any insight to where I can find one? I searched my local junk yards but the didn't have any that where similar.

 

You mean the part that holds the bulb?? have a pic.

 

Yea, the housing that holds the bulb and you plug in the power to that attached to the roof itself. Heres the pic shooting up

The plastic in my light was brittle and broken into pieces so I just
replaced the whole unit for $7 bucks !

There's a couple different styles,do you have a pic.

 

Its called the dome light assembly.
Some have the 2 built in map lights some don't!

Neither Fleabay or 3rd genranch have a used one listed for sale.

GM used them in a LOT of cars from the 80s to the 90s .
My 94 Buick rat has the same dome/map combo light............
A trip to the parts yard is what u need to do.

I know the plastic bulb/prong holder prob. crumbled as mine did!

mine has the 2 map lights, Ill double check to see if the one would work, but I dont think it will.

Manta.............that won't help. Thats just the outside cover
He needs the inside plastic piece that holds the bulb and contacts.

$25 bucks...........OUCH!

O,so there's another piece that goes to that?The add doesn't say that,It's from MDM,maybe he should email and ask them if it's a complete light.

 

Manta.......... If you look at my pic in post 7 you see the light/cover and
note the small tan bulb holder w/wires piece next to it.
That piece gets toasted from bulb heat and falls apart and the bulb drops
outta place the wires then touch and pops the fuse.

The plastic cover is seperate from the bulb holder (except for the map lights
as they are part of the cover assembly. Note 2 sets of wires)

cHEAp plastic crap........seen it several times!

 

Yea I see, the one I posted doesn't have that,so that piece is a totally different part
