Newer thirdgen dash in older third gen

I haven't found anything exact, but will the dash from a 90-92 match up with an 88 with no modification whatsoever? I have an 88 and somebody on here is selling a dash I'm considering buying but it's from a 92. I have an aftermarket intellitronix gauge cluster for an 88 camaro. I converted to ac but am just running the ducts that are in my non ac dash but I have everything to convert it. I am pretty sure the dashboards will both be interchangeable in regards to size and bolt locations, but I'm just trying to confirm whether or not there will be an issue with the gauge cluster area. It is slightly different, and I'm not sure if that will matter. If I have to make slight modifications that's fine, I just don't want to have to completely remake the thing. Most of the info I can find here or elsewhere is people swapping a 4th gen dash into a third gen.

As far as I know the 91-92 clusters are completely different including the shape, mounting and electronic connectors. Also difference between mechanical and electronic speedo although I don't know which the intellitronix cluster is. IIRC, the front has a different face with a flat curved clear piece (similar to the Berlinetta) vs. the earlier black plastic piece with the round holes.

I swapped (complete dash) from a 89 camaro to a 92. I had to remove the mounting brackets on the side and weld in the 92 brackets. The wiring harness is different also, but I was swapping from a 305 tbi to the 92 tpi so that was not an issue.

Honestly, I don't remember what the cluster section looked like when we had everything removed so I will have to check again. If it's even close size wise and as long as those 2 plugs that plug into the back of the cluster are the same, which they should be, then I can 're use the cluster circuit board because I have it wired to my aftermarket gauge panel. It's the same shape as the stock one' it just made every gauge read out digital. If I was thinking right, I would have gotten a dash first then I could have swapped in a 90-92 aftermarket cluster from the same company.
