adding power seat to 85 z-28 - got a question!
So, I have a set up that I've attached to the bottom of my stock seat. I've been working on other things lately so I have to say... I can't honestly say if there is a plug to power the seat or not under the carpet...
Any one have an idea if there is a harness underneath the carpet????
The Z does not have power windows or locks...
I'm hoping I'm going to get lucky.
If not, what will I need to do to run a harness? Circuit Breaker?
Any Thoughts...
I plan on checking in the morning... Just can't get back the garage tonight and verify.

I recently found a harness. Hoping it will be here early next week.
I'm sure I could figure out something on my own, but sometimes, it's easier and better to just use the RIGHT stuff.
So research I did on the matter said that GM had those wires in all cars. My hands on research showed differently. So, I hunted down the harness.
In retrospect, when I was looking for the power seat assy.... I'd found one w/o wiring (which I bought) and I'd found one with wiring. the one with was more expensive. NOW, I wish I'd bought the one with... OH Well, it'll work out just fine and it'll be right.

Hey Bob, after tearing into that '85 more way after I sold the seat setup to you, I found out for sure that seat was a swap in, and not the correct way on wiring but what they had done was connect the + wire to one of the ACC switched ports on the fuse box and had an inline fuse holder w/ a 30 amp fuse.

No problem... I've to my wire harness now... if's from an 89 camaro though....
not sure it's the same plug for the fuse box, but we shall see in the morning...
If not, I may have to engineer it a little

Well, after what seems like forever.... Today...
I FINALLY got the wiring done and the seat installed.
There is no reason it took me this long, other than I've been putting it off working on my wife's honey-do-list and maybe being a little lazy.
Seat goes up/down/front/back/tilt.... just like it should.
Decided to go ahead and get new tires on the car... 2 are good, 2 are crap...
so, next week.... baby gets new shoes...
