Stainless Steel Door Strikers

Got these after I decided my originals were just too worn out (egged).I didn't think it would clean up the appearance that much, but quite surprised how much it did. Also put a 1/4 s.s spacer in place of two of the big washers.

Well, I guess I know what I'm going to make if I get some free time on the lathe at work... Think aluminum would hold up?

Did you get those off eBay? I got a set recently and the quality looks real nice. Price wasn't bad either.

Some argue if the s.s is as hard as the OE pieces, but I definitely feel aluminum would bend to easy.

Yep, got them on good ol eBay.

If you do, any possibility of a S.S. set? Maybe try and compete with Hawks?

Always wondered what the actual issue was with S.S. strikers durability over OEM. Just don't slam the doors and they should hold up fine. My doors close better than some of my friends newer rides so I would like a set just to test if anything lol.

Looks good either way man. Thanks for the spacer additive. Good stuff.

I think they're more than strong enough.Newer cars have very thin strikers, could the steel be much better than our originals?Thankfully, my doors close with just a modest effort, even with the windows all the way up.

Same here.
Our cars use the doors as a body brace though, that's one of the reasons the doors are so heavy. Once latched the door links the A pillar to the B pillar so it would necessitate a strong striker. Newer cars are using the doors only as a way for ingress and egress.

Definitely. It has nothing to do with slamming the door to bed the striker, it is under constant force while you drive it
