I bought a 1986 IROC-Z (my dream 3rd gen) and it came with these hideous seats. They have IROC-Z stitched into the headrest, but I suspect it's some cheap aftermarket seat with the addition of the stitching. Anyone know where these seats may have come from?
Judging by the switch & the side lumbar. They look like the GTA articulating seats.Even the seatback plastic is covered w/ that awful material.Hard to tell w/out a better pic of the headrest though.

I'll be taking them out of the car soon when I get my parts car from VA. I'll be doing a full interior swap, I'd rather have the original style seats in the car, plus the donor is grey and mine is currently black. When I get them out I'll post better pictures of the seats in some better lighting.
If they are the seats you're thinking, would they be worth anything to someone on TGO? If they're not worth more than regular 3rd gen seats, I'll probably just keep them as an extra set, or one to put in the donor car when it becomes a roller.
Velvet you say?? Does that make them desirable at all? To me they're hideous because it's a purple color, with a green wheel, in a black/gold Camaro. Just doesn't look right...
However, I will say that in the right color keyed car, and maybe with the plastics painted black, it would be a great seat. They seem comfortable from the little bit I've sat in them, and the material definitely feels velvety.
Did you buy the 89 gray GTA from Winchester va off Craigslist?
It was a roller.
No, the car I bought was from longtime family friends. It's a 91 or 92 (pretty sure it's 91) RS with a V8. I'll attach some pictures, any parts I can't use I'll possibly sell on here. My only dilemma is that the car will run and (so I'm told) drive too. It was hit on the rear passenger side and being a unibody car, it's structural. However it was being driven for a year or so after the accident. I'm almost wondering if it's too nice to part out. Then again, it's just an RS and mine is an IROC...

Reason: Clarifying year of the car
