I am trying to install 98+ TA power seats in my 88 GTA. My 88 already had power seats. I connected the orange to orange and black to black. Connected the seats to each other with the oem harness and thought it was that simple.... My driver seat only has one button that works and its just the up side of it that works and my passenger seat when I connect it to the harness the bolster pump came on for about 30seconds and cut off but no buttons work. What did i do wrong I know its not the switch or motors in the seats because I got them from hawk motorsports. So what am I doing wrong?

Which OEM harness did you connect to the seats? Because the 98 and 88 do not interchange.
Also what makes you think its not the switch just because you got them from hawks?

The harness that links the seats together that has the wiring and air pump hoses. The passenger seat has the air pump that both seats use. You don't have to connect the passenger seat to any power supply because it feeds off of the driver side.
it is supposed to be as easy as power to power and neutral to neutral.
I was under the impression that Hawks tests them before they sell them.
Also the same exact thing was happening to my other cloth seats i previously had in there. I replaced the switch in it and it did not help. So I thought it was the seats and I wanted leather anyways so I bought these leather seats
Ths only thing I can think to do is try running a new power wire straight from the battery with a inline fuse just to see if its my power wire.

I also just ran a power wire straight from the battery and still did not work. It baffles me that both seat buttons are not working but the air pump kicks on
The only thing currently working is the bolster. If you hold the driver side button down it will open up but as soon as you let go it tightens all the way up.
Here is my friends 89 formula w/ 99 T/A pwr lumbar seats i installed for him. The harness (blk connector) for lumbar/seat track both get their power from the white connector. Your blk connector doesn't seem to be plugged in to anything. Also notice the dual air lines. Yours seems to only have one air line. Which looks like 3rd gen, but also 93-97 style (as seen farther below).
Dual air line connection, one for lower back, one for side lumbar, that Y splits upstream.
My 89 camaro w/ 97 T/A pwr lumbar seats. Single air line, but the blk connector seems the same as yours, but mine has its own pos/neg power. My seats differ from the headrest, adjustable knee support plus the lumbar switch is the same as 3rd gen GTA lumbar seats. Yours and my friends seats are identical except for color. It kinda looks like you have the 97 style harness. Neither of the three types will interchange i think.
You must be an electrician, there is no neutral in a DC system.
You're going to need to troubleshoot it on your own. There are only two wires for the power and you got the color to color match correct. There is no magic, something is wrong. Start probing with the multimeter
I currently have 12 volts power in the floor, the harness all the way to the switch so I am going to buy a new switch and see if that makes a difference if not then I will start replacing motors.
Only thing I know to do is remove the wiring harness and wire each wire across the seats individually myself, then if that doesn't work I will move to replacing switches
Did you try bypassing the switch? Could also be a short. Once you're satisfied it's not in the exposed wiring then consider unplugging one motor at a time and testing operation of the remaining. I'm not familiar with how these are wired but it would be weird if all of your motors failed simultaneously.
