Hello everybody, I have an 89' Camaro that looks pretty close to new that I want to put on Turo to rent out. It has a safety recall from 1990 and I cannot list the car due to this. I've tried to explain to them the car is too old to be looked up by local dealerships or GM. The seat belt buckles operate properly but they still require "documentation" from GM to prove this. Did people really get any documentation when they had their buckles fixed? Has anyone ran into needing to provide documents for any recall for any reason? I'm just looking to get pointed in some direction to get it approved.
as far as I know, the only GM fix for seat belts was the Red button that allows you to release the belt. The button would get exposed to UV light and decay.

Thank you in advance![/QUOTE]
The Only Documentation Is This Sticker From The GM Dealership
In no way a direct swap. seat belts should be replaced 15 years or so and mine were looking super haggard, retractors and safety provisions related to it didnt work so i tried these and overcame the hurdles a while back.
