Steering Wheels from Screaming Chicken!

We added steering wheels to our website recently including 3 different styles. All three feature a full leather wrap over black billet steering wheel. The billet adapter fits very well with 3rd gen steering columns - I've used Momo & Grant before and like these adapters much better. Depending on demand we may add more to choose from in the future depending on what people are looking for.

I was looking at your stuff. I’m in the market for a new wheel but was hoping for something smaller and more profiled for street use.

These are 14" diameter steering wheels, which is smaller than stock. Do you know how much smaller you we're looking for?

Re: Steering Wheels from Screaming Chicken!

I was thinking 13.5” but didn’t want plain round someone like the grant 8511 with the modern hand grabbing areas and solid 3 spoke design.

Grant and a couple other companies do a good job on that style of steering wheel.

Depends on what year and car you have, but around 14.5" sounds correct. Yes, as long as you have a horn wire and working horn currently everything works well. The billet adapter fits 3rd gen columns well, I had a Momo steering wheel before and the adapter would rub on the column when turning which made an annoying noise. It's solid aluminum instead of having a rubber boot.

Its a 1987 formula 350. I measured 14.5" edge to edge the other night. I like the fitment on yours but the center area does look big. No noise with your setup?

Re: Steering Wheels from Screaming Chicken!

I never installed a steering wheel before, any special tools needed? 1987 Iroc-z. I am intersted in the screaming chicken steering wheel, sounds like they have it all figured out. (no column rub and easy horn connection).

Also, who makes that wheel? manufacturer?

You will need a steering wheel puller (about $10 on rockauto.com) to remove the original steering wheel, the rest is normal hand tools. I met the manufacturer at Goodguys car show years ago, they had a booth displaying their steering wheels. I've been using them for years and have been happy with durability and quality.
