They do work on a third gen? Alternator doesn't hit? What did they come off of?

 

Yes. They will work. They are truck accessories. Alternator does not hit. Your factory power steering lines will actually work with these as well .

 

I know they are truck accessories but are they any different from a 5.3-6.0 or 6.2 truck motor? I was told the alternator needed to be twisted slightly to make it work at all.

 

These are off of a 08 Denali 6.2 but they are all the same. I have not heard about issues

Hmmm interesting someone told me the alternator wouldn't clear a stock hood without a custom bracket and a new belt.

 

that is a great idea to repurpose the 3rd gen alt

I actually prefer that to to fbody setup. I hate the idea of the alt behing *under* the PS pump....
