So, the driver's side LS1 body harness is in.
Since my 4th gen interior swap was all ready under way when I got my 2000 z28, I figured it would be better to just swap the entire harness. It's going pretty smooth so far. Everything is laying in place nicely and the under hood fuse block is pretty nice to have, but as ugly as it is I think the compactness of everything else will make up for it.
I'm using everything I can in order to splice as little as possible. Of all things, the windshield wiper system is going to have to be a sub system. You can see part of the old harness running through the old cruise control grommit to hit the steering column directly. Speaking of cruise, you can see the 4th gen one sitting nicely by the fuse boxes.
One thing I had to overcome is the lack of headlight motors on the camaro's. The spots in the fuse box was there for them though! I repinned the wires that ran to the smog pump fuse to run the HL motor module. Works out well since I relocated the HL module in front of the radiator (where the 4th gen smog pump went.) This also simplifies all the front light splicing I will have to do.
So far, here's a list of everything 4th gen going in the engine bay:
master cylinder (and sensor plug)
fuse panel
cruise control
fans
radiator
condensor
horns
windshield fluid tank (with pump)
washer hose (all ready inside the harness)
coolant tank/battery tray
vacuum tank
The only things I have to keep are the mentioned wiper motor system and blower motor system. The wipers will be directly ran from the column, but the blower motor will be spliced into the 4th gen interior harness. The headlight wiring remains as it is on the 4th gen, aside from different plugs and the HL module wired in). By the time I'm done, I hope to be able to just use the 2000 helms in figuring things out.

looks good.. same thing i did to mine
havin the same problem with the wipers using the 4th gen column.. switchin back to a 3rd gen column with the 4then gen air bag and steering wheel wiring in it
you should be able to salvage the 4th gen end and splice it into the wiring of the 3rd gen wiper

Yeah, the way the wipers work are totally different. I would have just swapped ends, but there's two more wires in the third-gen setup. The wires that did go to the 4th gen motor are through the same grommit that 3rd gen motor wires go through. Most of the wires will run from the column direct to the motor, but two will hit the 4th gen bundle to run it's washer fluid pump.

Since running and finished are two different things, I'll say running by Christmas.

Thanks, finally got the front lights soldered in last weekend. All the colors were a direct match, but I had to interface the headlight door module with it. That kind of sucked to figure in.
There's two fused 12v wires (which are now in the correct 4th gen fuse locations!), a parking light on wire, a ground, left/right headlight motor wire pairs, and a 'lights' on wire.
Normally the lights on wire gets pulled before the hi-low switch (hence the one wire). So I had to wire in 3 relays to isolate the high beam 12+ and low beam 12+ into the 'lights' on wire.
Anyways, all that's mounted using the stock bracket up under the nose and taped and loomed in. Looks pretty good to me.

New shot showing the headlight module and washer fluid tank fully installed, it's nice just to plug it in and attach the fluid hose.
