SpearTech?
Hey i been trying to get in contact with them but i get nothing. Is there some number or something that some one can point me into the right direction? I am about ready to do the LS1 Conversion or do you think i should just spend the time and do all the wiring myself. Thanks guys

With the help of a guy in my car club, we were able to do the wiring without spending the money on a custom harness. There is plenty of documentation on here and LS1 Tech.

I was talking to MR. Dude and he gave me alot of info on the wiring harness. It doesnt seem that hard at all just some time and alot of reading. I rather do that then spend more money on somthing that i can do. Do you think i will have enough harness to put the computer in the factory location? I heard something about extending it or somthing like that. thanks alot guys

No, without modification to the whole harness, it will not fit in the stock location. The 4th gen has it on the passenger side of the firewall in the engine bay.
You should take the money you would have spent on a harness and keep it in the bank account, because you will soon find out that even the simple small missing parts costs tons of money. I've probably spent more on missing bolts, belts, hoses, fuel pressure regulator, etc then I did for the block.

I dont know what im talking about sorry about that, but will this AC Kit work with the LS1 setup?
So i wont be able to have the computer in the stock location huh? I might not have alot of room to play with when the AC system is in there. Do you guys have any pics of your engine bays?

it doesnt fit if you're trying to maintain the stock 3rdgen harness routing.

yea if you have the time i say do it yourself, i just didnt have the time to do it. As for fitting it under the dash I say just do what mr. dude did. I did the same thing, i honestly didnt think it would work but he was right, but it BARELY fits. Just drill a 2 inch hole just under the heater box, and just above the frame. The hole is just big enough to fit and the length of the harness is just long enough to make it where the stock comp was. It wont bolt up in there like the old one did, but i just took out the brace that was holding it in and just stuffed it up in there.
I think this way looks a hole lot cleaner, if you have any more questions feel free to pm me. I think i also have a pic of where i drilled if if your still lost.

That makes me feel a whole lot better. thanks guys. Also too if you had to rate on how hard it was to do the harness what would it be 1 meaning very easy and 10 meaning very hard.
-No one has really answerd my question (except Mr. Dude) about the A/C kit that F-body motor sport offers. Just kinda loss on the Wiring part. Thanks guys a bunch.

yes that ac braket is made for the LS1, you will have to use that if your going to use your stock k-member and not notch it. Your only other options are running a tubular k-member, or notching your stock unit.
If you are going to order that ac braket i would call them first and make sure they have it in stock becuase they are known to take your money and take forever to send your product becuase either
A. its discontinued
B. Its back ordered
If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

ask if its in stock first and when it will ship. if they put the date out, wait to order... if it should ship right away, then pay with a CREDIT CARD... just for a little added safety.

if you know NOTHING about how electricity works, you've never soldered or used heatshrink... if you need someone to hold your hand to connect wires because you cant look a diagram and figure out what they do, then its damn near impossible.
if you have a basic understanding of electricity, and you can connect wires, and you do all your research and think it thru, its not too difficult.
if you know what you're doing, then its really easy.
so my answer on the 1 to 10 scale would be 1,5 and 10.

i would PM mr. dude he has all the information on doing the wiring harness. It doesnt look that hard (after seeing what i got back from speartech, you could defintaly do it yourself but just takes time), but i know he's got some diagrams that he can send you that will make the job a lot easier.
Good Luck with the swap.....the end result is a lot of fun

Yeah, MrDude gave me just about everything I needed when we did the wiring on my car.
I am interested in the picture of the hole you cut for the ECM to go inside. Right now mine is sitting next to the coolent take because I can't find a good place for it where the wires will let it route....but I'll look into what you guys were saying
