alright so you got your ls1 and your buying all the stuff you need for you swap right. fuel delivery you buy a afpr and run some crazy lines right?

why not go a cheaper rought. ls1 from like 99+ are non return style well keep it that way. buy a corvetter fuel filter it has 2 inlets and 1 outlet. one inlet for the feed and the other for the return line. and 1outlet for the fuel rail. now u just need to hook up your fuel filter and your line to the fuel rail. you dont need a afpr unless ur making some crazy hp. there is a fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail.

hopefully i will of saved you guys some money if you do it this way. i know i saved myself about 200-300 bucks.

let me know what you think about this idea!

Sounds great! That's why many of us have done it that way

...could buy an ls1 gas tank and not need the corvette regulator (or upgrading the fuel pump).

for pics and a write up (there are posts by others as well):

no, others have done it that way - i used a stock tpi fuel filter and ls1 tank (regulator is in the tank).

actually man your right and your wrong, the corvette fuel filter off of a 99-04 does have a feed and return line. but your rail doesnt have a regulator in it. regulators have a vacume line coming out of it. the regulator is actually inside of the fuel filter!!! im running the same setup in my porsche 944 LS1 swap. what is mounted in the place that the regulator would be is a dampaner, if i spelled that right.

A 97 corvette has a fuel rail with a feed and return line and thats where the regulator is, right where the dampener is on yours.

let me break this down

the cheap way...
-buy a 97 corvette fuel rail, as it has the feed, return, and regulator on the rail. 150$

the cheaper way
-buy a 99-04 corvetted fuel fileter with built in regulator and use your fuel rail with the dampener on it. 40$

either way works just as good,

and heres another hint,
hinsonsupercars.com have the quick connect to an converter for your rails!!! so no more welding aluminum or using clams

hope that helped you guys, i registered just to post this, but it looks like i can find some good info on here so thanks!

good luck on all your swaps

oh and also its 98+ Fbodies and vettes that have the returnless fuel rail. the 97 was the only year with the return line and the regulator on the rail

im also running a corvette filter/regulator mounted where the stock filter was...

edit:
attached is a pic of my lines.... the lines on the right connect to the stock 91 gas tank lines, and clicks onto the filter/regulator.. the hardline on the left clicks right into the filter/regulator, runs up the frame like stock (it is the stock line..just modded) and ends near the prop valve on the frame rail... a OEM style nylon fuel line with quick connects at each end connect between it and the fuel rail.. exactly like stock genIII+ motors.

Just use the 4th gen fuel T. Just need one line from your motor to the T and your set. Return line goes to the T back to fuel tank. Problem slove!

by T do you mean TANK?

because the reason that works, is that the regulator is inside the tank.
so you can either run the 4thgen tank, and do that, or drop a walbro in your existing tank, and hookup the filter regulator....or drop in a walbro hookup a FPR up front with one line going to the fuel rails..

all of them work just fine... pros and cons to each.

uhh, ok, that works great if you have a 4thgen tank... because then the regulator is in that "return" line from the T.. (technically, that isnt really a return line, just a feed to the regulator)

i just read another post..
the fuel T is just a block of metal with 3 holes in it.. its not a regulator of anykind.

We did it that way using a 98 Tank, but used braided lines from the tank to an AN "T", and a filter with AN fittings then braided line to the front rail.

I used the f-body kit and the stock thirdgen tank with a walbro, seems to work well
