LT1 Swap. front end lighter now. need to drop?

Since i have dropped in the FBody LT1.. the front end is now lighter.. and the car is sitting too high in the front.. Wondering if anyone has tried drop springs and maybe has a particular drop that returns the car to stockish height... I can't go any lower then stock because our roads here suck.. My other alternative is to pull the springs and cut em.. but dont want to get into that if i can help it. Can also use torch and heat spring up to drop it.. but afraid i wont get em even.. lol.. anyone with some insight here?

Drive it, it will eventually settle back down. Mine sits just like it should with the LT1 in it.

As far as I know the LT1 weighs pretty much the same correct?? The LS1 brings the front up about an inch...

Question...did you by any chance take the control arms off for some reason?? If you did, did you wait to tighten the bolts until the car was on the ground? I did that in my Jeep once... Tightened everything to spec with the axle hanging. Made for almost 1" of extra height until I loosened it back up and did it right. Just an idea to throw out there!

but this is the LT1 with the Alum heads.. so it will be lighter... it may just be that my struts are toast.. how does one tell anyway?

I personally cannot see how a strut would effect ride height at all since the spring is what supports the weight. If for some reason that it did I couldn't see it ever being higher than stock. jmo...
My lt1 has been in my car for almost 4 years it sits at stock ride height with the origional springs.
Hope this helps.

My T/A has always sat slightly higher in the front after my LT1 swap.. I run bilstein and the eiback pro-kit..

It is about a 1/4 inch high.. I was going to cut a quarter coil or switch over to sportlines which appear to have a slightly higher ride height in the rear, given the inequality it should equal out.

As for front end float, that is the struts telling you to change them

Re: LT1 Swap. front end lighter now. need to drop?

I know this is a old post but I am getting ready to put the factory springs in and I cut my old ones due to the ride height before, I do not have any of the ac stuff so my guestion is will they settle even with out it...
