vettes, gto, gm trucks (5.3, 6.0, etc.. same family), cts-v, ssr, trailblazer ss, grand prix gxp has an ls4 as does the monte carlo/impala SS (fwd though), ... I think that's it for the US available vehicles.

The newer vortecs are ls based engines. wikipedia is very helpful. Friend of mine has a carb'd 6.0L out of a truck in his iroc.

what would be the disadvantages of that from the ls1? i know the displacement is larger which is better but yeah..whats the bad stuff and good stuff of those vortecs..and can i put like an LS6 intake on it too?

The bad news is you can use the truck oil pan, dipstick, tube, or oil pickup. The truck intake sits about 6 inches higher than the ls1/6 manifold, so hood clearance may be a problem. Accessories may also be a problem, but I dont think I've seen anything concretely confirming that. (I'll let you know in 6 months when mine is sitting in the car.) On the outside, the blocks are the same, so the ls6 manifold will mount up tho.
